Over 40 Years of collecting and 20 years of retailing comics, cards and games in the Omaha and Bellevue area is represented by Ground Zero Hobby. The first Ground Zero was in Bellevue, Nebraska at the gate of Offutt Air Force base. During the cold war is was widely felt that Offutt would be one of the main targets of Russian missiles should war break out. There would be no where to run, and it was sarcastically and affectionately called Ground Zero.

The events of 9/11 caused much discussion of a name change possibility. As Americans we choose to respect and honor our fallen heroes and innocents. One thought could not escape our reasoning. We will not let them change our way of life or the things we love by their acts of cowardice. We will continue our name out of respect for that reasoning.

We have strived to make Ground Zero a shop by collectors, for collectors. We respect the rights and diversity of all serious collectors and hope to serve their needs. We support collecting for pleasure, not only for investment. We provide space for gaming and tournaments in our stores to help our hobby grow.
